Personal Philosophy of Nursing
Looking at the definition of a nurse, we get that it is “somebody who cares for a sick person,” but I think there is more beyond to nursing than this simple interpretation. In general terms, nursing is an influential and rewarding profession. Throughout their career, nurses care for people in all aspects and promote health to the general public and prevent diseases. Therefore, nursing is mainly concerned about helping the society and to become a nurse, one needs more than that a desire to be one or succeed. Above all, I am always drawn to helping those who are in need. It is an honorable career path and should not be taken as any other job for earning a living. My objective is to offer non-judgmental care to all regardless of their statuses in the society.
My personal philosophy to nursing is that the professionals have a responsibility of providing a safe, holistic and person-centered care to the public. As a nurse I am not supposed to view the patients as medical conditions but rather as people who are in need of person-centered attention and care. Therefore, nurses need to use clinical judgments t...
