My parents are members of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) local 1658 because of they feel the need to advocate for some crucial issues affecting US workers. My mother joined the local family first campaign launched by the AFGE devoted to advocating for the passage of the paid parental leave for working families. My mother believes that no parent should be made to decide between children and the paycheck.
