My Leadership style essay
Leadership style is the characteristic interaction between a leader and other people in varying situations and occasions. I am an assertive leader and I hold team participation in high regard. This is in appreciation that I may know the problem but I might not have all the information required to effectively address it and this leads me to involve others who have the required knowledge and skills and desire working as part of a team. This style allows for the best decisions as people make better decisions when they work together because they approach the problem from different angles making the overall decision exhaustive. This style also increases the team’s level of motivation and commitment and reduces competitive attitudes as they feel part of the team.
I offer guidance to the team through assertive leadership. I am goal oriented, strong willed, energetic, purposeful, a good listener, unselfish, empathetic, thoughtful and considerate. I honestly express my feelings enforce rules and require the team to deliver on assignments in a respectful and dignifying way. I do not have favorites in the team and my core relational goal is maintaining good human relations and team building. I am a collaborative leader whereby I caringly listen and understand others. I also endeavor to compellingly persuade others while being careful to run over them. I communicate by stating the needs and wishes clearly and respectfully with the team.
