The comedy-drama film, based on an actual real-life story, revolves around Ray Kroc and the McDonald brothers. Kroc is an ambitious salesperson who works for the Prince Castle brand. He portrays a struggling sales executive who distributes milkshake mixers and other products for the brand. His bad experience with numerous drive-in restaurants while ordering food makes him skeptical about the business. While working, he makes multiple calls to his supportive wife and June, a fellow salesperson in his company, to narrate his frustrations. One day June informed him of a company in California that wanted to buy mixers from him.
Kroc is curious to visit the company when they order not one but eight mixers. It is what leads to him meeting Maurice and Richard McDonald, the owners of the restaurant. Mac and Dick founded and co-owned the McDonald's drive-in restaurant, the first of its kind based in San Bernardo, California. The story of the brothers is very inspiring and can serve as a motivation to many. Young and hungry, the brother moved from their poor home in Hampshire to California in search of greener pastures. Maurice wanted to venture into the movie industry while Richard yearned for a white-collar job. The two would soon get employment at Colombia Pictures as truck drivers.
After a few years of saving, the McDonalds set up their movie theater, which was short-lived. In September 1929, a recession the worst one ever recorded hit the world. They had to close down the theater because it was not making money. Inspired by a food vendor, they decided to set up a hotdog and fruit juice stand, which kept them at bay until they moved to San Bernardo.
