In the stages of human development, adolescence is the development period where there is an increase of reward-seeking behavior (Galvan, 2010). Consequently, young adults face complications in choosing what is wrong and right. The aspect that makes a particular action acceptable or unacceptable may be determined by various factors and some might be specific to circumstances such as legal considerations and personal code of ethics. The moral development is a process where a person acquires a sense of what is right or wrong, and the insights are useful in evaluating their actions, as well as those of others. Moral development starts during the early stages of human development and continues throughout their life (NAHIC, 2014). Understanding the reward-seeking behavior among adolescents and critically reviewing the theories of moral development can provide a base on how parents and the community can handle moral issues, understand how young adults reason and respond to moral dilemmas.
