One misunderstanding that has occurred in my life was between me and my long-time friend Eunice. About 6 months ago, we had a serious misunderstanding that almost escalated into a conflict. Eunice accused me, her best friend, of missing a birthday luncheon for her. She claimed that I just failed to show up. She felt not only betrayed, but also hurt. She also pointed out that of late I have been pulling away, and that if I do not value our friendship anymore, I would rather tell her than stand her up.
The fact is that I had been under too much pressure at my workplace, and it was virtually impossible for me to find any time to contact Eunice.
