A mission is a statement that says why an organization exists and what it does. By looking at the mission statement of an organization even if you not familiar with it you know what to expect. The mission of La Roche entails the provision of high-quality education that reflects its deep Catholic heritage. It also seeks to create a world of compassion, peace and justice (La Roche University, 2020). The mission of the university is related to its founders in that it’s the mission is drawn from the vision of the Sisters of Divine Providence which is to have a world that is compassionate and embraces peace and justice. The founders being Catholic they created an institution that is of their faith.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
The UN SDGs were created with a mission of embracing holistic development leaving no one behind. Some of the goals include access to quality of education which aims at ensuring that by 2030 everyone, both boys and girls have access to quality primary and secondary education. The goal seeks to improve life by ensuring that the illiteracy levels are reduced. Another goal is promoting peaceful and inclusive societies that will help foster sustainable development and ensure that all have equal access to justice (United Nations, 2015). The goals generally seek to promote peace and justice.
La Roche Alumni
Scott Moffat ’01 is one of the alumni of La Roche that stands out for me. In most cases, people focus on self-improvement after college and their careers are just a bridge for their success.
