Introduction
In this marketing plan, my target company is Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Since 1832, when James Thomas Fields and William Ticknor started their own publishing house, this company has published and sold millions of books. Writers like Nathaniel Hawthorne, Henry David Thoreau, and Ralph Waldo Emerson have had been a part of this publishing house. Unlike other marketing plans of top companies and brands, I am to help the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt representatives generate more revenues by selling a significant number of books, reference works, fiction and non-fiction stories and technology materials worldwide. The company has its headquarters in Boston, and I feel that they should establish branches or sub-offices across the United States.
Project Plan
It has been observed that Houghton Mifflin Harcourt does not have a strong social media presence. On Facebook, Google+, Twitter and LinkedIn, they need to build themselves to let the world know about their presence. Even their official Facebook page has only a few thousand likes, which is a matter of great concern. I propose Houghton Mifflin Harcourt to increase their number of fans and followers on social media, but for this, they would have to spend some money. I have planned to help them generate more revenues and introduce their books and technology materials to a large number of buyers, which is possible only when they have a strong social media presence and keep updating their followers regarding the new arrivals....
