A hero is empathetic and considerate: To appease his demons, the king goes to a quiet place and makes a prayer to God. At that moment, Hamlet comes in, and he is tempted to avenge his father’s death by drawing his sword and striking down his uncle. He later concludes that this would be giving him an easy death as he would have died a saint after confessing his sins. He says,
Now might I do it pat, now he is praying, And now I'll do 't. [He draws his sword.] And so he goes to heaven And so am I revenged. That would be scanned: A villain kills my father, and for that, I, his sole son, do this same villain send To heaven. (3.3.77-83)
This section of the play depicts Hamlet as a hero as he is trying to fight injustices such as the murder of the king. He also uses empathy and is often conflicted on whether to forgive Claudius. This is another trait of a hero as he always puts his needs behind and always tries to carry the weight of others.
