W4: Locating a Source "Controversial Topic" (Essay Sample)
As you learned this week in the lecture, academic writing is unique compared to other forms of writing because it seeks to explore an issue by collecting evidence and then formulating a persuasive argument based on the information available. For this activity, perform some exploratory research on the controversial issues that surround your career or something that is interesting to you. Once you select a topic, use the College’s Virtual Library, as covered in Week #3, to locate a source that offers a particular perspective on this issue. Once you find the source, provide a one-paragraph summary of the source. At the end of the entry, cite the source in APA format.
