In 1979, Masami Akita initiated Merzbow, which took no time to become a prominent Japanese noise project. As exemplified on 1996’s Pulse Demon, Merzbow is widely known for its unique combination of soft and harsh voices. More than 400 recordings have been released so far, the current piece of music being one of them. After listening to this music, I got to know that different musical instruments with varying noise qualities have been used to create this work.
