Comparing Goal-Setting Strategies
The role of goal-setting strategies is required by individuals essentially for monitoring and securing progressions in professional and personal achievements. Particularly in the dynamic environment today, the goal-setting strategies are important for maintaining the focus and pursuing correction direction with accuracy (Kalat, 2019). In the academic literature, innumerable goal-setting strategies exist for assisting individuals while forming an objective, for both personal and professional provisions. Prominently, the two theoretical frameworks utilized more frequently are “Objectives and Key Results (OKR)” and “Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound (SMART).” Unlike SMART strategy, OKR is more flexible, informal and convenient in devising a target significantly. OKR is preferably used for short-term objectives, which hold minimal resources and limitations of time factor collectively (Ferreira, Viegas & Trento, 2017).
