Health care management encounters difficult ethical problems more frequently than other professionals. Improper health care management results to medical issues. Medical error is one of the moral dilemma experienced in healthcare services. Medical error is an adverse effect of care which can be preventable. This error includes inaccurate diagnosis of a disease, syndrome, injury or even an infection. It is estimated that in 2013 approximately 142,000 people died worldwide from medical treatment errors (Hall & Bobinski, 2014). Sometimes, health care administrations are hesitant to admit fault whenever a medical error happens because the management might fear being used against the facility in court. Nonetheless, situations that end up resolved and a change designed prevents similar mistakes from happening. This paper discusses medical errors as a dilemma in healthcare management and the ethical principles used to resolve this dilemma.
Medical error is among the leading causes of patient's death globally. In healthcare management, a medical error occurs when a planned action fails to be completed accordingly. The health management is eligible to create a safe healthcare framework that ensures patients' safety from accidental injuries. The Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) states that nearly all health physicians make mistakes that they neither disclose to patients and nor their families (Hall & Bobinski, 2014).
