For this writing scenario, you have been asked to write a short essay with sources on an issue important to college students in the 21st century.
You will submit this essay to a student journal that is publishing a special issue on topics important to modern college students. You may choose to write about issues of costs and financial aid, balancing work/school/family, access to technology, or another issue you feel is important. The topic is up to you, as long as it fits the scope of the special issue of the journal. You notice the journal usually publishes short student essays, with a few sources.
Your task is to write a short essay, 750—850 words, on the topic above. Your essay should include at least two outside sources, which should be cited according to APA guidelines. You will draft your essay during Week 9 for a Week 10 peer review and will submit your final draft at the end of Week 10.

Compose your work in a .doc or .docx file type using a word processor (such as Microsoft Word, etc.) and save it frequently to your computer. For those assignments that are not written essays and require uploading images or PowerPoint slides, please follow uploading guidelines provided by your instructor.
Check your work and correct any spelling or grammatical errors. When you are ready to submit your work, click “Submit Assignment” in the upper right corner. Click on “Browse,” browse your computer, and select your file. Click “Open” and verify the correct file name has appeared next to the Browse button. Enter your comments, if any, in the Comments area. Click on “Submit Assignment.”

The need for education in the 21st century is a primary demand in many countries. Higher Learning Institution is reporting an increased number of admissions every year. There is stiff competition for better grades in college. Employers are looking for extremely qualified graduates. Retrenchment of senior employees has further facilitated the need for extra education. Teenagers and adults are competing against their grades and GPA in the colleges. Though teenager students seem to have less responsibility, they cannot run away from balancing assignments and family demands. Some students in employment markets are also obliged to meet their contracts and deliver their class tasks on time. Based on this increased demands for tertiary education, this paper will explore the challenges in balancing work with college tasks.
Balancing work/family with college demands is a depressing situation to many college students. The college students are always torn into pieces to decide on what to give the priority. In most cases, college students record poor grades because they have psychological trauma to focus on their academic work. Balancing work with school demands is challenging because of the two needs commitment and dedication. Partially employed students have to struggle to catch up with the submission deadlines of assignments. Working entails various responsibilities and commitments. The policies and regulation of the contract may require the employees to report to the service early in the morning and leave the facility late in the evening. In such cases, the students have forfeited some critical lesson to save their employment. They learn through online tutorials to understand their course concept. Occasionally, they stay active throughout the night to study and submit their assignments before the deadline. Such college students have been diagnosing of insomnia and severe depression conditions because they live by stress throughout their entire life. Both education and employment have become a fundamental human need. They cannot afford to lose either of them.
Time constraints in college for students who are pursuing their education alongside work is another challenge. Despite the facts demands that their physical appearance in class is inevitable, they must report to their workplace to undertake office responsibilities.
