Social Contract Theory
The social contract theory is a theory that explains and gives views about a person’s moral and political obligation. Hobbes, Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau are the three known proponents of this theory. The theory have is among the most dominant theory which explains about morals and political issues especially in the 21st century.
Question 1
The theory originated from a famous philosopher known as Socrates who used an argument which resembled a social contract used to explain why he should remain in prison and accept the death penalties (Locke, 2014). The three philosophers, John Locke, Hobbes and Jean Rousseau were inspired to write the three in the aim of seeking justice and fighting against injustice practices done by the political leaders. They were also inspired to educate the citizens on their rights. For example Hobbes was inspired to participate on the social contract theory when he saw how the king treated his people during English civil war. He strongly rejects the views that the parliament and the king to share power as he argues that political authority and obligation are based on interest of one self. The same case happened to john Locke and Rousseau who used their current status in terms of politics to explain the theory.
Question 2
The social contract theory played a major role during the formation of the American government and has brought impact to the modern world today. By the time the American government was being formed the citizens had their freedom and understood their rights. Through the social contract theory, the natural liberty had been guaranteed, there was equality and there was promotion of social justice and relation. Due to the social contract theory the American governments have been successful up to today. The theory has also assisted other citizens and the governments of different countries to know their rights and how to govern their people.

Anarchy is defined as the absence of the government and the individuals have freedom while social contract is where the government exists but rules people with justice (Locke, 2016). The two concepts are related since both of them are concepts that are emphasizing about justice and the freedom of the citizens and the tips that should be used when governing a country.
