How have understandings of justice evolved throughout the environmental justice movement? What did they prioritize in the beginning, and how have they changed?
Justice comes out as one of the most important moral values in the view of politics and law. The virtue of being fair, rightful and lawful relates to justice and helps to maintain law and order in the desired state. The fairness at which people are treated depends on the law's fair judgment, consisting of legal and political systems. Justice is viewed in various ways and types, which helps to understand the environmental and societal level to obtain fair and equal treatment.
The various types of justice include distributive justice, procedural justice, justice in recognition, and fair and equal social life participation. Economic justice consists of fairness from the right and attention people receive in the social order of socialism (Week 2). The structural idea of fair play brings the principle behind the procedural justice in what and who should receive the good and the attention in a fair and just way. Justice at the environment level depends on the environment's experiences and knowledge, thus incorporating an equal voice. Participating in social life demands an equal chance and right to justice for everyone to interact and bring equal representation regardless of the class structure.
Environmental justice focuses on the way people live with others in the communities with all the harms and the challenges of injustices. The various types of how justice should prevail were profoundly not applicable to how people lived and prioritized fairness. Environmental justice, in the beginning, was based on the academic and intellectual dimensions, and in this state, the people from the grassroots had to bring the environmental movement (Murdock 10). The movement of justice looked at gender participation and the various ways in which justice would prevail to everyone.

Community Environment Legal Defense Fund (CELDF) is the act of helping the political and legal systems, indigenous people, and communities in aid of advancing the laws and policies strategically for the protection of environmental justice and nature.
