As the popular saying goes, “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”, different people perceive this concept in a variety of ways. Some prefer individuals who are taller than those who are shorter, with more pointed nose than those with flatter ones, slimmer than chubbier ones, and so on and so forth. However, in any context throughout history, there have been a lot of ‘similarities’ or ‘trends’ that focused on different parts of the body that determines what’s beautiful and what’s not, such as Hairs and Nails.
The art of hairstyling has always been a hot topic in discussing the concept of beauty. Even during the age of antiquity, ‘fashionable hairstyles’ have been sought and copied by individuals from famous individuals who have worn it. Some examples include Cleopatra’s gilded braids, Mary Todd Lincoln’s Flower Crown, and Buddha’s Spiral curls among others. Apparently, time dictates what is considered to be the trendiest hairstyle and what is not.
Just like the art of styling one’s hair, nail styling can also be traced a long way back in time. Some historical records have found out that women have styled their nails back in Ancient India (5000 B.C.) and China (3000 B.C.), where they use henna and a combination of egg whites, beeswax and other substances, respectively.
