Achilles begged to borrow his friend’s armor because he needed guide his men into battle so that ships can be saved. Achilles still did not want to take part in the fight but allowed his friend to use his beautiful armor and lead Myrmidons into fight. Patroclus appeared in battle full of pride because of his borrowed armor from Achilles. Hector came back to the fray to search for men that need to be killed.
Patroclus kills every Trojan he sees and Zeus thinks of saving his son, Sorpedon. Even if Hera convinces Zeus not to kill Patroclus, he still planned to after he lets him retreat the Trojans. Zeus makes Hector feel fear, and Hector starts to retreat. Patroclus disobeyed Achilles and leads the Trojans to the gates.
Hector kills Patroclus, the son of King Priam and to avenge him, Achilles takes the life of Hector. Priam gets down on his knees to beg Achilles for his son’s body. Achilles did not want to and Hector made a prediction that Achilles would die shortly after. After Hector’s death, his body was tied by Achilles to a chariot and it was dragged around Troy.
