Many elements of graphic novels are similar to what you see in movies. A graphic novel creator can be the director in deciding what each panel and page shows. Pick a sequence that we did not look at in lecture from Wimberley's Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes. Think about the frame of each panel. What are you seeing? What are you not seeing? What about the camera angle? The distance from the subject of the panel? Are there any sound effects? Why did the creator make those choices?

In the chapter 1, in the interaction between Jim, Will and the salesman the man asks whether the house is Jim’s as he points towards the house. This is a long angle view and shows the man, a tree and other houses in the background and a house. In the first panel there is a long distance between the salesman and the other two characters. Will joins the conversation and asks “Hey, what about me ?” . In the shot showing Will, there is a close-up shot only showing his face and shoulders, and when the man answers Will the panel is taken sideways and is also close up.
