Feng Shui is science or superstition
Feng Shui has been practiced by the Chinese for millennia and recently it has started to permeate the western culture. There has been many misconception of this practice and some people have subjectively understood this phenomenon and some even labelled it a religion or superstition. Classical Fengshui is neither of both though some people have misunderstood it. CITATION Oxf17 \l 1033 (Oxford Dictionaries, 2017) define superstition as Excessively credulous belief in and reverence for the supernatural or a widely held but irrational belief in supernatural influences, especially as leading to good or bad luck, or a practice based on such a belief. CITATION Oxf171 \l 1033 (Oxford Dictionaries, 2017)also define science as the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment. Classical Feng Shui befits the second definition of science rather than the former on superstition.
From the definition above, superstition entails beliefs which are superfluous and often wrong. Classical Feng Shui is a power of nature CITATION Moh01 \l 1033 (Deep, 2001). It is therefore not in any way related to spiritual beliefs. Power of nature is distinctive from spiritual power. The power of nature is explicable by other phenomena such as magnetism and therefore Feng Shui just like magnetism is a natural force that has be balanced in our lives. Those who articulate Feng Shui as an avenue to bring wealth or romance are misguided and do not follow the teachings of Feng Shui. They are the people who are often misled to belief that Feng Shui is a religion or superstition which is false. Feng Shui articulates the ways through which humans can harness the power of nature and improve their lives just the way we use magnetism for various uses in our lives. No belief system is required and all a person needs to do is balance the Chi which is a power in the universe. Nature responds to this powerful force of Chi just the way objects respond to magnetism. Feng Shui is founded on the ability to articulate these forces to balance and bring good to your life since we are also elements in nature. Some people have distorted this fact and propagated it as a superstitious belief that Feng Shui brings upon people, rather it is much more founded on forces of nature not the gimmicks taught by wannabe Feng Shui masters.
Secondly, Feng Shui does not revolve around spiritual beings or gods CITATION Cat09 \l 1033 (Hoover, 2009). Spiritual beings or god are the foundation of religion and other belief system which gratify their deity.
