Introduction
It is essential to consider that the gender history of the 19th century German can be viewed broadly in two ways; first as a far end overreaching patriarch model which was used as a means of researching power and privilege for the men and secondly as a process that determines the gradual female challenges of exclusion (Selected Prose of Heinrich von Kleist, 2011). In as much as this period is considered to have witnessed distinctive shifts in respect to gender relations within the levels of socialization; these shifts are considerably different from the traditional views and ideas of the male supremacy towards the contemporary notion of gender parity and equity.
Considerably, some notions of inequality between the two genders provided a way that made some beliefs that all the sexes were equal, but to some extent different in accordance to shared rights and responsibilities, and the laws and customs that enforced the aspect of female dependency. As women grew in gaining autonomy and opportunities, the aspects of male power have been inevitably curtailed (Selected Prose of Heinrich von Kleist, 2011). However, men did not lose their legal obligations that define their responsibility as the providers, nor their rights that instill the aspect of remitting domestic services within the family unit. This paper intends to carry out a study to establish the standards and value models that comply with the element of female socialization in the 19th century Germany and the manner in which this is literally staged.

In laying down a foundation, it is important to consider the fact that each and every generation has minorities that vocally fight for change within the society. An instance of this can be depicted in the world today in which news and stories about the struggles of lesbians and the gay population in regards to their rights are exhibited (Selected Prose of Heinrich von Kleist, 2011). In Germany, the 19th century men and women have been defined under the expectation of fulfilling different spheres within the society.
The men are required to live their usual public life that involves working in different areas or engaging in social activities with people of the same like in clubs, public places and so on. Women on the other hand are required to live their homebound lives largely by taking care of responsibilities such as child rearing, cooking, and cleaning (Selected Prose of Heinrich von Kleist, 2011). Free time for women is not a time for them to spend socializing but should be spent in doing other functions that are related to the family such as laundry.
Due to the traditional expectation of women prior to the 19th century, few women had the opportunity to get educated as their male counterparts. Educating women was in this case considered as subversive and a pervasion of the correct social order within the society.
