Inside your chosen section, you will find links to many chapters. For example, in the Basics section there are links to a dozen chapters on Basic Facts, Quality of Life, Legal System, People, Language, Aboriginals, Education, News and Media, Economy, Money, Military, and Foreign Policy. Take the time to explore each chapter in your chosen section, before choosing one chapter to write about.
For your chosen chapter, write an essay that follows the plan of organization below.
Plan of Organization

From the variety images that come to people’s head when they hear the word “Canada”, some are mostly the result of souvenirs from tourists, beautiful photos, stereotype and even government recognition as national symbols. In the chapter about Canadian icons and emblems, J.J McCullough describes the symbols that the people of Canada associate with and which are used as symbols of the country’s sovereignty. From the sugar maple, Canadian animals, national flag and the royal Canadian mounted police, the illustration of each element is a representation of the things held dear by each Canadian. The webpage contains visual illustrations of each Canadian symbol and a description of its meaning and importance.
The Sugar Maple Leaf
Being the most common symbol of Canada, the maple leaf is found nearly on every logo in Canada. Apart from the beauty of the leaf and its great aesthetics, it is historically treasured as a tree of Canada whose products have been used for generations. Interestingly, Canadian associate it with the fruits of hard labor since before you could harvest the products, a lot of work had to be put in to grow the tree. Essentially, the leaf which changes to red from green in autumn also represents the ability of Canadians to utilize their natural resources effectively (McCullough, 2019).
