Experian data breach occurred after hackers gained unauthorized access to a server that contained sensitive data of one of its clients, T-Mobile. Experian reported that an unauthorized party had earned access to an Experian server that is used to house T-Mobile data.
Ramifications for the company were losing private information of more than 15 million clients who used the company’s services, T-Mobile customers who had applied for Experian credit checks. The American Depositary Receipt (ADR), headquartered in Ireland, closed the next day at 1.7 percent, while shares belonging to T-Mobile dropped by more than 1 percent.
Experian could have prevented the hack attack by encrypting the pool of data that was housed behind one universal lock. By applying the essentials of edge security, Experian would have ensured the safety of each customer’s data by having their data secured using user-controlled access for every individual consumer account.
I will prevent hackers from stealing data from my company by having security policies and using data encryption tools.
