Analysis of Poet Robert Frost
Robert Frost is probably one of the most well-versed man in terms of colloquial poetry because of his knowledge of the classics, Bible, and his passion for both European and American literary works. His poetic prowess can also be attributed to his passion for Romantic and Victorian content. Frost delved into Romantic poetry wherein he took pleasure in delving in the topics of religious, social, political and overall societal change. Frost looked toward the experiences and presentation of Romantic topics, and later on used those to build his own artistic expression through his poems.Aside from Romantic Poetry, Frost also took an interest in Victorian Poetry. He even admitted that among his favourite poets are the Victorian styled Robert Browning and Thomas hardy. Robert Frost through out his poet career made valuable use of sonnet as well as narrative poem. Frost took a liking to the casual colloquial tone as well as works prosaic in style. He presented an innate longing to understand the role of time and its effects on the aging man and the ever changing society.
 
In his works, Robert Frost used the natural world to imbue imagery and add impact. He was able to connect with audiences by utilizing a common ground, which is imagination. The natural world inspired Frost, so he used it to share his keen observation of life and his realizations about the journey of man through it. He would describe objects of nature, such as geographical features, the sky, plants, insects, sounds of the rural environment and such. He also related season to he poetry and presented it with the associated emotions. Nature has a way of inciting curiosity, and when followed reveals an insight.
Robert Frost used his awareness of the inner experience and its relationship with the outer environment. Both are dependent upon each other, in terms of the psyche of man. Imagination plays a key role in both poet and reader/audience. It enables one to perceive the world in way that is connected to “feeling”. Imagination brings forth the intensity and impact of the poet’s message. Robert Frost was connected to his creative capabilities by using his imagination, thus generating inspiration and new insights for more poems and how he would present it. Poetry takes both poet and audience to the flow of its message, and yet one will eventually return to the real world. Poetry moves the consciousness towards an altered state, of being more sensitive and more compassionate. Frost proves this repeatedly in many of his works.
