The Aeneid is one of the greatest Latin poems written by Vergil, the poem is about a Trojan Hero Aeneas. Aeneid presentation is parallel to experiences presented by Puritanism and American revolutionaries who mainly focused on theology and political revolution. Throughout the poem Aeneid, the journey of Aeneas is meant to teach readers specific moral lessons in life. Vergil presents Aeneas to depict the essence of moral virtues, making the story relevant to modern readers.
In the story, Vergil reveals the internal conflicts as part of human experience, especially when making important decisions in life. For example, Aeneas is aware of his fate in Italy. However, he still wished he could have died in the terrible storm because part of his heart wants to stay in Carthage because of his love for Dido, the queen of Carthage (Kline, 2002). This becomes a literary tact that engages readers with similar problems. By portraying Aeneas struggles, he wanted to inspire modern readers.

In the poem Aeneid, Aeneas is presented as a model with specific weaknesses; hence, the Aeneid is a story about reality. Vergil can be viewed as a Christian even though he lived before the advent of Christianity because Aeneid was originally written to deliver the pay tribute to traditional Roman virtues of integrity, good judgment, ethical leadership, justice, and fairness (Kline, 2002). These virtues are similar to some virtue emphasized by Christians.
