The benefits provided by early education to children are well observed and documented for centuries. The learning, scientific, cognitive skills learned by the children of this age can play a vital role in their entire life. The Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) is one of the approaches exclusively developed for the children in their early ages and over the years it has proved its worth (Corkin & Hollis, 2015). The approach includes reaching the children according to their individual mental levels and then transform their present skills to include basic concepts of the science and associated studies. In this essay, an overview of the methodology and specific guidelines set by the educational institutes and concerned authorities are discussed in detail.
The early childhood care providers and the institutes like “Day Cares” play a vital role in the formation of early development and learning skills in the children. They are primarily responsible for generating the plans and techniques which can facilitate the children in the development of the early learning techniques. The conventional responsibilities of the child care providers and institutes like Day Care are to ensure the physical and mental health of the children. At the same time, they are required to develop basic learning skills which are based on the social and cultural background of the children under their care (Corkin & Hollis, 2015). The DAP consists of the fundamental guidelines of the adoption of the methodology and it seems to effective in most of the cases.
