Nonfiction refers to any document representing truth or facts regarding people, events, or any other information. This category of literature is vast and broad as it includes; biography, music and art, journalism, health, cooking, crime, travel, and others. Nonfictions play a vital role in deepening understanding of content outside of the language classroom in the following ways; understanding reality and expanding readers' minds.
Understanding the Reality
Nonfictions shed light on the reality of people and their way of living. It also enables the reader to gain more knowledge in a specific subject and therefore enhancing the learning of new things. Nonfictions provide the reader with the facts and real picture of the environment. The reader also feels more of a student and ready to gain knowledge contained in the subject through reading.
