These deaths occur mostly due to low ceilings and visibility problems. The National Safety Board reported 21,380 aircraft accidents between 1989 and 1999 of these 4,838 of the cases were said to be weather related. Another effect of fog or reduced ceiling is delays in various airports and marine ports. The economic impact of ceiling and visibility is said to be 300 million dollars annually for America.
