The book, ’A History of the Joy of Cooking’ by Irma von Starkloff Rombauer depicts the concept of food and recipes as a way of defying the grief brought on by the different changes present in the different eras. The book brings one back to the concepts of food preparation and cooking utilized throughout history such as the cleaning of knives with lemons. It establishes historically significant aspects and develops them all through to the different times and informing my interests in cooking and reading recipe books.
