Gun control has always been a controversial topic. After several extensive mass shooting crimes, such as the 2017 Las Vegas casinos shooting, this topic has been pushed to the forefront. Some people think that guns make it easier to commit crimes, and they harm their lives to a certain extent because people will use robbery at will when they are emotional. Others believe that guns play a role in self-protection. It is the people who use guns, not the guns themselves, who commit crimes. And I think gun control is essential because whether or not guns reduce the number of crimes will increase the number of deaths in the event of danger. Gun control is not an effective way to reduce crime.
Across the United States and the world, guns are owned by criminals, ordinary citizens, and police officers. The goals of possessing these weapons are for personal protection for citizens and public protection for police officers. Many people who support gun control laws state that police have the mandate of protecting people. However, it is also evidence that police officers are also available in areas where they are patrolling. It is impossible to have police occupy every part of the country.
