Response to Intervention (RTI) & Strategies for Improvement
The Response to Intervention approach might be useful for Marco because of its individual-focused nature (Jimerson, Burns & VanDerHeyden, 2015). Marco’s teachers and school will be initially required to assess his problems, skills and current functioning level. His strengths and weaknesses may be identified which will help the educators to appropriately design his schedule and syllabus. Moreover, his teachers will be required to closely monitor Marco’s performance through his grades and class participation.
In order to aid Marco in his academics, strategies which emphasize important concepts and are taught through advanced technology. Mini-videos, recordings of the lecture, virtual learning and activity-based learning may be emphasized (Aldunat & Nussbaum, 2013). A group activity in the form will also give positive feedback to Marco on how other children are able to remain contented and productive. The teachers may also allow Marco to have extra exit breaks for some time so he may refresh himself and cognitively redirect his mind. Response to Intervention strategi
