CHINESE PHILOSOPHY
Ironically, for most of the people the question of how to improve their lives lies in the obvious conclusion of a rational and calculating approach. This is relative to the seriousness that a majority of the people place on their life altering decision. This is actually understandable, as most of the decision that affect people’s lives tend to have some significant weight on the way that they rationalize progress and growth as well as success (Gross-Loh, 2013).
However, the approach that is given by Puett is quite interesting. According to the lecture, the best approach is one that is relaxed and relying on ones the daily cues of what one enjoys most. There is emphasis on making sure that one is able to get in-touch with their inner self and interacting with life’s smallest processes (Gross-Loh, 2013).
When reviewing the approach that is offered in the lecture, there is some very intriguing elements. One is that, most of the decision that one makes are largely calculated and rarely do they ever take a more relaxed approach as suggested. There some element of excitement associated with being spontaneous and sometimes this can be quite scary (Gross-Loh, 2013). Ideally, when making decisions, such as the career path to take, there more weight than when making friends. At the same time, while making friends by talking or even smiling to strangers may be easy, this is not the case when choosing a life partner. There is a lot of calculations that are involved.
