Hamlet is character that can be described as an enigma and for the most part, a good majority of the audience cannot decide whether they hate him or love him. More importantly is the fact that, some of the audience cannot decide if they find the character believable or not. This is not the fault of the audience, rather it is the way that the character is presented. There are multiple dimensions that come with learning and interacting with the character in the play. Depending on what is being investigated, there is an element of human nature that comes alive. It is as if he has all the elements of good and bad all cooked into one. The far ends of the extremes within one person, such that most of the audience are confused as to whether he is even believable. Like any other human, the literally character that is Hamlet, embodies the extremes of a person, with feelings, character, beliefs and even ethics; making him a believable character.
The paradox of Hamlet is associated with the fact that he has some extremes that seem rather off. He is cautious and reckless, ferocious and tender even uncivil and courteous. However, these are all characteristics that depend on the situation where he finds himself. For example he is seen to put Ophelia in a rather compromising situation and one that leads her to become insane. However, he is seen to be in a very respectful relations
