He was targeting Jane Doe’s smartphone since he was contracted to get the device by someone who wanted to extract relevant information from it. However, it was not a lucky day for him since Joe Binder, the law enforcement officer, had already been informed about the preplanned crime. The paper focuses on the causes and effects of cell phone theft. Based on the above scenario, Stealer was paid to steal the smartphone of Jane Doe. As such, one of the causes of cell phone theft is getting access to a confidential material. The thief was instructed on how to obtain the smartphone without tampering with it. He was supposed to deliver the device to the individual who needed that vital data for the purpose unknown to him. The primary effect of data infiltration is identity theft or gaining access to a particular system. If the person who wanted the cell phone was a hacker, the person could use it as a loophole to connect to a network. Moreover, the individual might use the device in fraudulent activities. Another cause of cell phone theft is to obtain valuable parts. Maybe Jane’s phone had the best camera or the biggest storage space.
