Dear Sir, with reference to your letter dated, the following information is presented about Central Valley of which will be helpful in your presentation. First, the central Valley is California’s agricultural home that is has a record of over 360 agricultural products. It is also reported that as a State, California Valley is the only producer of over 12 types of fruits, vegetables and different types of ground nuts like olives, walnuts, sweet rice, and clingstone peaches. Apart from this, the State is also the nation’s highest producer of dairy accounting to about 1/5th of the country’s dairy (Bittman, 2012). However, there have been years of man-made drought that contributed to the lack of rainfall, in this manner, most States including California have continued to experience increase in food prices.
Following this, there have been calls to enact laws that will provide a relief to all farmers by enabling the return water-flows to the Central Valley. According to the H.R. 3964 Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley Emergency Water Delivery Act, it spells out various resolutions that can restore water catchment areas which have been cut off by environmental lawsuits and other federal regulations. It is important that the government of the day puts up mechanisms to ensure constant and reliable supply of water to these farmers.
