In regard to rhyme scheme, the poem “Mowing” does not follow the common traditional form of sonnet despite the fact that it involves the standard fourteen lines of poems. Rather, Frost creates an amalgamation of the shake Spean and Petrarchan rhyme scheme hence making the poem unique. The poem employs certain specific syllables and sounds for the purpose of creating an aural feeling in regard to the subject and the narrative attention. A good example is the repetition of the word whisper which provides a visceral sense of the specific scythe that is moving back and forth during the process of cutting hay in the field (Hart, 2017). 
The poem is written in the first person form hence representing the true feelings of the writer and not just not a legendary story. Frost points out that truth and fact are more important than the imaginative fantasies associated with gold and elves (Watson, 2016). He describes the love he has for nature even to the extent of working in the fields when it’s hot. In this case, Frost tries to bring out the fact that people face a lot of struggle in life in order to achieve their goals. As a result, this qualifies his poem to be one of kind when compared to traditional sonnets that are used to describe fairytale lands. The poem is a good example of the works of art that are made to emphasize on reality instead of just telling stories of an imaginary world.
