Verizon Wireless, whose headquarters are at Basking Ridge, New Jersey, is the largest mobile services provider in the United States of America. The organization is a partnership between United Kingdom’s Vodafone and United States of America’s Verizon communication that hold 45% and 55% of the organization respectively. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the opportunities and threats facing the organization and to examine how the Human resources department can deal with these.
The opportunities that are at the organization’s disposal include a demand for international expansion, acquisition of smaller regional operators, new potential markets and new products. The threats that are facing the organization with reference to human resources include, an increase in competition, increased regulation by the FCC, mobile malware as well as safety issues.
