One of the most essential knowledge that humanity has to know is the concept of Earth. Earth can be defined from different perspectives, but generally, it connotes the essence of our planet and its components. Earth is generally our environment that sustains, and serves all species in their existence and evolution. All beings, animals, plants, humans, and many others derive their life from the different elements with their complex and awesome characteristics, that are naturally created via different processes present in both organic and inorganic reactions. In earth science, Earth can be perceived as dirt, rock, minerals, or simply the ground and all that encompasses the field of geology.
The planet Earth generates “earthly” resources such as precious minerals and metals through complex and time consuming processes that happens in the different layers of the planet. Different kinds of rocks can originate from different kinds of processes such as Metamorphic, Sedimentary, or Igneous. Igneous rocks derive from the reaction of different materials in Volcanos, or Magma/Lava outbursts either from the land or under the sea. Sedimentary rocks come from the solidification of sediments or other leftover elements from organic life forms due to extreme pressure and right environmental conditions, most of which are found in the sea. Metamorphic Rocks are the most complex ones, which take a whole lot more energy and extreme and exact environmental conditions in order to produce more complex material. These processes can take eons of time in order for the present material to be in its current form.
The products that originate from our Planet Earth truly amazes me as it shows how nature knows its own course. Whenever I go hiking to the mountains, or diving under the sea, the beauty of the rocks, nature, and its complexity always amazes me. I remember when I had a vacation in the Philippines and visited Mayon Volcano. I was able to witness the majestic towering presence of the most elegant and most perfectly shaped Volcano in the world.
