What I found most interesting is that as victimologists become fully aware of who is likely to be victimized, as well as the rationales for such actions, risk-reduction and mitigation approaches can be developed. These strategies need to target both the offender's behavior and opportunity. In this way, it emerges that victims play a crucial role in mitigating their potential of being victimized (Daigle, 2018). This is the most interesting part because understanding victimology in most other crime areas appears to be an effective approach to crime reduction. Creating knowledge about how an individual, a company, or a home can become a perpetrator's target is increasingly crucial to creating crime mitigation strategies.
