Up First: Episode 1 Date and Summary
It is important to keep up with current political events if we are to stay informed citizens and make good political decisions. By now, you should be able to follow political news stories and connect the current events to concepts we have been learning in class e.g. is Trump’s national emergency constitutional? Can it be challenged in the courts? For this weeks’ assignment, you are to listen to NPR’s daily news podcast which is called Up First. This podcast is released every weekday morning and is about 10-15 minutes long and details “the news you need to know today”. In this assignment, you are to listen to 4 of the 5 episodes from the week February 25-March 1. Each day’s episode is uploaded early that morning. Note you can access previous days’ episodes but you will get more out of this assignment if you listen each day.
