Cyber bullying entails the use of social media network to harass or publicly humiliate another person. Due to the anonymous factor that comes with using socialmedia one person can use a fake identity to attack, threaten, and harass another (Iannotti, & Nansel, 2009). The results of these attacks can be horrendous and even tragic. The cases of cyber related cases have recently increased.
One of the most publicized cases is that of a thirteen old girl, Megan Meier, who committed suicide after receive, insulting and hurtful messages from her online boyfriend Josh (King, 2010). The shocking truth was that. Josh was not actually a real person. Rather, Lori Drew, a mother of one of Megan’s friend created the account to torment her.
