Trends and Policy in Early Childhood Alignment of preschool with other levels, such as kindergarten. The trend of alignment relates to accountability and increased involvement of public schools in early education. The trend is calling for a better alignment of preschool with K-3. (Policy and Program Studies Service, 2016) The fact that these two classes of education have been separate affects the fluidity of learning from one level to the next.
