DADT Repeal Act
DADT repeal act was a center of controversy since its passing in 2010 by president Obama and his Congress. In a report by the department of defense, it was reported that the department had spent $95.1 million on the recruitment process to replace the 9,500 troops that had been fired from the army due to the violation of the DADT act since its implementation in 1993. Department of Defense (DOD) presented a repeal proposal to the Joint chief of staff (JCS), which was received with hesitation. In a civil rights meeting on Wednesday, 28 January 2010, President Obama launched his determination to help in repealing the act. He argued that nothing should disrupt the unity of the Americans, and the enshrined constitution should have a crackdown on the policies that were not clear to make it more cognitive. "Don't doubt the direction and destination; we are on the right track" (Connell, 2017). Democratic leaders and the Senate tried to end the repeal in May 2010, but they lost by 234-194 votes.
