Demonstrations and protests against some verdicts and incidents have been a recurring phenomenon over the years. Out of an incident, they come out and short-living them has been a hurdle. A particular incident occurs, and a wave of reaction from the people follows causing unrest. The consequences of the actions of the participants follow; there is a demand that they are resigned, prosecuted, terminated, etc. The wave of reaction persists to this as well. People react to whether it is appropriate that the prosecution takes place or not (Paul, 2016).
There are several causes that civil unrest can be attributed to. They include profiling, economic hardships, bigotry, police abuse, lack of role model, lack of discipline and unity in the family among others (Jack, 2015). When these causes come into contact with an economic development approach that is lethargic or disinteresting, being used by the government administration, it ignites the spark of unrest.
The destruction caused by civil unrest as witnessed in Watts, Ferguson, and Baltimore in the past years points out the need for addressing this issue. History indicates that there is no solid solution in the near future, not even on a long-term basis. Establishment of the appropriate means of economic development, boosting of government, institutions and property respect requires a support that is unified from the majority and consumes time a great deal.
Violence resulting from the confrontation between the unruly crowd and the police officers leads to non-natural deaths.
