Write a two to four (2-4) page paper in which you:
Explain three (3) reasons ethics and integrity will be important in your future career choice in law enforcement.
Determine at least two (2) aspects in which ethics, morality, and law differ in regards to affecting the decisions of your local law enforcement officers.
Recommend at least two (2) ways law enforcement officers should use ethics, morality, and a code of conduct in both their professional and personal lives.
Using the Law enforcement code of conduct for the state of your choosing, identify and discuss the two (2) most important aspects of the code as they relate to law enforcement activities in your state.
Support your position with two (2) relevant and credible references, documented according to the latest edition of APA. (Note: Do not use open source sites such as Ask.com, eHow.com, Answers.com, and Wikipedia.)

These guidelines are not the laws to be enforced; they are ideal standards that professionals aspire to uphold. In regards to this, law enforcers are entrusted with protecting citizens, they have a lot of authority and, power, therefore, law enforcement is a profession that requires individuals to act with integrity and must be trustworthy. While ethics deal with morality, which is the ability to differentiate what is right and wrong; integrity is the fundamental values that one has to demonstrate to be trustworthy (Westmarland & Rowe, 2016). Without a doubt, integrity and ethics are two important attributes for any person who aspires to be a law enforcement officer. Because police are expected to protect people citizens, they are expected to observe laws and act with honor in all aspects of their lives (Westmarland & Rowe, 2016). Ethics is important because it helps those aspiring to be law enforcers to be critical thinkers and also be analytical in their judgment. Ethics encourages personal responsibility, but integrity is equally important because it demonstrates how we exercise ethical principles in our daily endeavors at work. Integrity helps us exercise virtue of honesty and truth and people who demonstrate these important principles are dependable individuals.
