Activism consists of efforts to promote, impede, direct, or intervene in political, social, economic, or environmental reform with the desire to make changes in society; using direct action to achieve an end, either for or against an issue.
Anyone can do it! As young adults and college students, what are some concepts or ideas that YOU learned, picked up on, or that soaked-in throughout the semester which YOU believe may be helpful to YOU and classmates in becoming activists about matters that YOU are passionate about? First, write brief opening statements (3-4 complete sentences); next, skip 2 lines (double-space); then bullet-list 3-4 ways that YOU can get actively involved in causes you care about; and after that, comment on two different classmates’ threads. ***Be sure to read the yellow section below for further details!***
Again, your initial response (an opening statement about what the topic is about) should include 3-4 complete sentences with bulleted recommendations; and then you are to provide “meaty” or “strong” commentary on two classmates’ threads. While I am not putting a “word count” on either of your 3 required posts, they should convey complete thoughts, be substantive (detailed enough), and add value to the conversation (and N O T be abbreviations or 2-3 word replies… “I agree/disagree”, text lingo, or sentence fragments…parts of what should be a complete thought)!
