Some people get confused with the terminology surrounding death investigations and their classification, such as natural death, accidental, suicide, and homicide. For this reason, criminal investigators must be well-versed in the various death classifications. Use your textbook, the Internet, and / or Strayer Library to research articles on death investigation.
Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:
1.Compare and contrast the fundamental differences in natural death, accidental death, suicide, and homicide. 
2.Select an article concerning a type of death of your choice and summarize the key factors that the police used to classify the type of death. Suggest one (1) additional factor that the police should collect for the death investigation. 
3.Compare the fundamental differences in investigating a death case versus other types of crimes. 
4.Determine the goal and the main procedure of a preliminary death investigation. Include one (1) example of a successful preliminary death investigation to support your response.
5.Analyze the main ways in which various environmental factors may influence the medical examination and autopsy in death investigations. 
6.Use at least two (2) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar type Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Introduction: There are categories of death in which death can occur which are used by pathologists to examine the deceased. These four categories of death are often used by pathologists when they are required to determine how a certain person died. They always look at the evidence provided both physical and then trace and evaluate which category fits the way in which the dead person passed away. There are wounds on the surface such as gunshot or knife wound that most probably cause death. The most part of the pathologist is concerned with how the deceased died and then use this a mean to which they will base their final outcome. Throughout these categories of death an autopsy is usually performed for the purpose of providing significant evidence that the pathologist and the police officers involved in the investigation to collect together in their assumptions.
Natural death ;this is a type of death that occurs when the body fails to function on its own normally due to mitigating medical problems such as heart failure or other factors that would bring about death. It is basically understood as death caused naturally.
Homicide death; this is a type of death that usually happens when a person’s human life is taken by another human being through pre-meditated murder. "Pre-meditated" means to have planned earlier on how to execute murder of another person in cold blood while attempting to elude being captured by the authorities. In American Homicide, death that are caused by criminal negligence such as automobile related incidences, are not categorized as homicide, since assault was not willful.
Accidental death; this is another category of death of a person that is usually caused by other means other than natural death, murder or suicide. Accidental death can be manslaughter murder that has been committed involuntarily towards another person. This type of death can also be called death by misadventure, meaning the person passed away by accident while doing something they should do or not have been doing or through risk taking that would place the individual in danger. Most sports athletes have passed away and their death has been categorized as death by misadventure due to the extreme nature of the activity.
Suicidal death; this is a category of death that is usually involved by deliberate taking of oneself life because of emotional distress that is usually brought by depression. Suicidal death is neither accidental nor death by misadventure .This is due to ...
