The theory also recommends other options that can be applicable within a community setting to ensure safety discourage the purported offenders and reduce the rate of people falling victims of such crimes (Wilcox, 2010). In reinforcing this theory the use of real life scenario of examples of specific criminal offence that occurred is vital in explaining how the government divisions concerned with reinforcing law and order reacts to such situations. For example, Amber Hagerman was abducted while playing out with her brother. The investigation began as police recorded statements from people who volunteered information. A profile of a 25-year-old man was released, a man believed to have come from Dallas. The search continued and Amber was never found. Several issues must have contributed to Amber being abducted or falling victim. The story was published on the front page of the Texas Daily as a way of reaching out to anyone who had any information.
