Discuss American involvement in Asia, Latin America, and Europe during the period from the end of the Civil War to the Great Depression of the 1930’s. To what extent were economic factors responsible for the increasing emphasis on foreign affairs? What other factors were involved? How did U.S. involvement with these three regions differ? Why?
