The Outcomes of World War I If America Had Not Joined History Essay

Essay Instructions:

-Length: 2-3 pages double-spaced, 12-point font. Paper must be a minimum 2 full pages, and cannot exceed 3 pages.
-Title Page: the title of the essay (which should make clear which topic you've chosen to explore).
You should NOT use any outside sources of any kind as this essay is meant to be your own reflection, informed by the course material, including the textbook, which we will assume you'll be using. As a result, you will typically not need to cite or reference anything. The one exception to this is if you decide to quote anything directly, i.e. word-for-word. In that case, you will need to do a proper APA citation (for that direct quotation) and also create an APA reference page to go at the end of the essay, with the source you quoted listed there (probably the course textbook). If you aree unsure how to cite or reference in APA, you can find out how to do it at this website: OWL Purdue.

The Outcomes of World War I If America Had Not Joined
Introduction
America's intervention in the First World War came as a surprise as the country joined the war after over about two and a half years. The U.S.'s military position that was so weak made other countries rule it out from World War participation. America's intervention in the world war was an event that is believed to have changed history because of the war's outcome. Reduced loss of lives, peace without victory, loss by allies, change of the course of the war, and the German conquest are some of the things that would have happened if America had not joined the fight.
Reduced Loss of Lives
America would not have lost many lives if they had not participated in the war. The United States of America lost lives both on the battlefield and off the battlefield because of their late intervention into the fight. For the few months that America participated in the war, they lost more people in combat, which would have been prevented if they had not joined the battle. One hundred seventeen thousand soldiers, an astonishing number, were killed while two hundred two thousand soldiers were wounded (Kazin, 2017). Some American soldiers died in the war camps because of the Spanish flu, yet this would have been prevented when the America had not participated in the war. Therefore, the number of lives lost during the war would have been restricted if America had not participated in the Great War.
